A Stellar Love Story

This couple wanted something different, something deeply personal and meaningful for their wedding. Their passion for astronomy shone through in the small yet significant details, such as the groom’s meteorite wedding band—a literal piece of the universe they could carry with them. As photojournalistic wedding photographers based in Calgary, we love capturing the essence of a couple’s story, and this one was nothing short of magical.

A Night Under the Stars

To make their vision come to life, we ventured to the mountains in Kananaskis on a crisp fall evening, armed with our gear and a shared excitement. Our goal? To capture something extraordinary. We spent several hours in the mountains, taking in the serene beauty of the night sky and photographing the couple amidst the stars. The mountain backdrop, combined with the couple's celestial love story, created an ethereal atmosphere for their portraits.



We knew we couldn’t just settle for ordinary photos. After our first round of shots, we decided to venture back out into the wilderness to capture an even clearer sky. With a mix of photojournalism and artistry, we were able to create photos that told the couple’s story while also becoming works of art in their own right.

While our style as a Calgary-based wedding photographers is typically photojournalistic, we love the opportunity to switch gears when a couple requests something special. For this couple, their connection to the cosmos inspired an artistic approach to their photos. We blended my photojournalistic style with a fine art touch, using the stars and natural surroundings to create a series of portraits that were as breathtaking as the love they shared.



The result was a perfect combination of candid moments and intentionally crafted portraits that felt both personal and timeless. Every photo from the shoot became a chapter of their love story, immortalized under the vast Alberta sky.
